VX360 just got a major update across Android and iOS, with one change standing out above the rest: your phone is no longer required for data collection.
That removes a major point of friction from the VX360 experience. Data collection is now simpler and more reliable, without depending on the phone connection during use.
This release also includes several improvements that make device status, connectivity, and uploads much easier to understand at a glance. Let’s review what changed.
The biggest change in this release is straightforward. VX360 no longer depends on the phone for data collection, regardless of who is behind the wheel.
For users, that means fewer interruptions and a simpler day-to-day experience. The setup is easier to trust, and the device can do its job with less dependence on your smartphone for optimal data collection. It doesn’t even have to be in the car!
While the phone is no longer necessary for data collection, it still needs to be close to the device to view the latest updates from your drives, including pending footage and upload progress.
This update also improves how the app communicates connection status.
If the phone is not connected to the VX360 via Bluetooth, opening Device Settings now shows a dedicated bottom sheet. This makes missing Bluetooth connection issues much easier to spot.
The device status on the home screen has also been simplified. The status icon now stays green and no longer changes based on whether the phone is currently connected. This creates a clearer separation between device health and the temporary phone connection state.
At the end of the month, users will now also see a message explaining that points have reset and that reward calculation is in progress. This adds more transparency at a moment that can otherwise feel unclear.
Upload visibility is another major part of this release.
The upload widget now shows the exact time of the latest upload and the total GB uploaded in the last 24 hours. Users can see more clearly whether uploads are happening and how much data has recently been processed.
There is also a new Preparing for upload status for the period after a drive ends and before upload begins. This helps explain a phase that previously could feel ambiguous.
Taken together, these updates make VX360 easier to use and easier to understand.
With phone-free data collection, clearer Bluetooth detection, simpler device status, and better upload visibility, this release reduces friction in the places that matter most for everyday use.
